Troubleshooting AI study output

Improve generated notes, flashcards, and questions when the output is too broad, too short, unclear, or inaccurate.

Updated 2026-06-064 min read

AI-generated study material depends heavily on the source you provide and the settings you choose. Better input usually produces better revision output.

If the output is too broad

Use a smaller source section and ask for a specific focus, such as definitions, exam-style notes, key causes, formulas, or common mistakes.

If the output is too short

Use more complete source material and, on Pro, adjust output length where available. Include context that explains the topic and level.

If the output seems wrong

Check against the original source first. Then regenerate with clearer source text or a narrower instruction. Do not rely on generated content for high-stakes revision without verification.

If the source is messy

Remove repeated headers, broken copied text, unrelated content, or formatting noise before generating. For PDFs, check whether tables and diagrams were extracted correctly.
